Technology’s Lecturer Eng. Muhammad Younis addresses World Road Congress

Eng. Muhammad Waqas Younis, a Lecturer at the Department of Technology presented research findings on road transport at the 26th World Road Congress (WRC), 2019 in Abu Dhabi, UAE ON October 6-10, 2019. This meeting, held every after four years was first held in 1908 in Paris, France.
Eng. Younis presented on “Roads and Intermodality”, a study he conducted in collaboration with the University of Leeds UK and Reading University UK and funded by ReCAP. His paper won the UK’s World Road Association (WRA) prize awarded by the Minister of Transport, UK. On this basis Eng. Younis got selected to attend and present his research in this dignified congress.
The Congress attracted renowned researchers, construction firms, and technical experts belonging to transport services, bridge engineering and pavement infrastructure and materials who presented their works in the form of posters, oral lectures and technical sessions.
Commenting on the achievement, Eng. Younis said; “It was great honour for me to represent the UOL and present my research in an international forum”.  In the meantime, Younis has submitted this same work for publication in the Journal of Transport Geography (IF: 3.560). “I’m looking forward to presenting my future works in the upcoming WRC in Calgary, Canada, 2021 and Prague, Czech Republic in 2022,” he added.
