Society of Health and Nutritional Awareness holds Career Counselling Seminar, celebrates three-year anniversary
On October 21, 2020, the Society of Health and Nutritional Awareness (SHNA) held a Nutrition Career Counselling Seminar at which it celebrated the three-year anniversary and swore in the new hierarchy members.
The event kicked off with the recitation of Qur’an followed by the national anthem and welcoming remarks from the new hierarchy. Counselling of members about the available career opportunities in the nutrition field was the main goal of the seminar.
Mr. Tauseef Ahmad (Founder SHNA and CEO Umeed e Bashar Foundation ), Ms. Amna Yasin (Former General Secretary SHNA), Ms. Laiba Nasir (Former Vice President, SHNA & CEO Desi Dietitian), and Mr. Talha Ahmad (Co-Founder SHNA & Former Treasurer) were the guest speakers of the seminar.
The guest speakers’ brief presentations were preceded by SHNA’s stories of success since its inception. The stories portrayed the salient activities that the Society has accomplished in the last three years and summarized its contributions within and outside the University.
In his capacity as Founder- President SHNA, Mr. Tauseef elucidated how the Society was conceptualized and evolved in the last three years. He guided the audience on how to balance between academic life and co-curricular activities. He shared his view points on the existing opportunities in the nutrition field and narrated the story of his own nutritional foundation that he established.
Ms. Amna, Ms. Laiba and Mr. Talha also shared motivating stories regarding nutrition as a field of study and their startups with the audience. They also recalled how they pursued their academic goals alongside SHNA activities. They advised their junior colleagues to focus on practical skills saying that the job market requires graduates who can add value to the industry.
After sharing their inspirational talks, the guest speakers presented shields of appreciation to the promising members of the Society and to the new hierarchy members. The speakers also received shields in the honor of their contributions.
The new hierarchy members took an oath from Ms. Aqsa Shoukat Ali (President SHNA) in which they pledged to serve their Society with dedication and passion. The SHNA team welcomed its new members and little fun activities were also held to entertain the audience.
The celebration of three-years of existence was also part of this event and it was reflected in the success stories portrayed at the beginning of the seminar and climaxed with the cake cutting ceremony held at the end of the seminar.
