Safe Society Arranges Inter-University Competition on Sustainable Environment

The Safe society organized inter-university competition on sustainable environment branded as “Green Idea Challenge” on October 14, 2019 in which over 60 students participated individually or as groups formed along UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This competitive platform aimed to create awareness about the environmental degradation within Pakistan and to generate innovative ideas about sustainable environment from the students.
Students from the host University, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Punjab University (PU), and Government College University (GCU) presented multiple green ideas in form of power point presentations, posters and short films.
Dr. Qamar Zaman (Asst. Prof.), Mr. Hassan Waqas (Lecturer) and Mr. Waqas Ahmed Khan (Lecturer) from the Department of Environmental Sciences were the chief guests of the event. Mr. Khan while addressing the participants said, “It is an honor for me to become a part of this event, students who participated in this event you are really talented and hardworking. I am quite fascinated by the ideas you have presented today. I can see great future achievers today who will help Pakistan to become a green nation.”
