Society Report

Mr. Muhammad Junaid Iqbal, an 8th Semester student of BS. Computer Science (BSCS) was promoted by Microsoft Corporation to the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador (MLSA) Gold category on January 27, 2021.

A total of five student ambassadors were selected from Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions for the Gold Category and Mr. Iqbal was the only Pakistani who got this award out the 35 contenders. After this promotion, Mr. Iqbal will be working with Microsoft Professionals on multiple pilot projects and will be mentored for the latest technology and social experiences by the Microsoft experts.

MLSA program has three categories or milestones; Alpha, Beta and Gold. The Students Ambassadors are eligible for the Gold category when they have gone above and beyond in earning their badges and serving their local communities. With the Gold achievement, they become Student Ambassadors Regional Leader, gain access to special events, and may be invited to become a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP).

MLSA is a global group of on-campus ambassadors who are eager to help students and their communities, lead in their local tech circles, and develop technical and career skills for the future. As student ambassadors, they organize campus or community hackathon, mentor other students, or volunteer with an elementary school STEM class.

Mr. Iqbal’s selection was based on his outstanding achievements done so far as an active member of MLSA particularly in UOL and in the entire Pakistan generally. He is the Founder/President of Microsoft Student Partner, UOL, a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) and Azure Security Engineer Associate.  He has taught, motivated and mentored hundreds of students on the latest technology through multiple international level workshops, sessions, competitions and boot camps.

While sharing about this milestone with The Spectacle, Mr. Iqbal said, “It’s an honour for me to be selected as Gold MLSA from the entire country. The MLSA program taught me the knowledge of industry and due to this I have become an expert in Azure Cloud Computing, AI, ASP DOTNET and Solutions Architect from Microsoft”. “My personal opinion about this program is that it is a great opportunity that every student must try to get”, he added
