Lahore School of Professional Studies holds six-day training with 39 talks on clinical placement and practice

In order to equip the students of MS Clinical Psychology Program with the clinical experience, the Department of Psychology, Lahore School of Professional Studies (LSPS), organized the National Pre-placement Trainings from January 22 to 31, 2021.

The training aimed at imparting intensive knowledge to the students on different dynamics of the clinical placement settings before joining placement venues and to understand the practical skills in the domain of child psychopathology and child psychotherapy. The week-long training included 39 talks, demonstrations and role plays.

In MS Clinical Psychology Program, the trainees are sent to clinical venues including hospitals and rehabilitation centers to get a rich clinical experiences. The students from different universities such as University of Bahawalpur, Government College University, Lahore, Kinnaird College Lahore, Virtual University of Pakistan, Lahore Garrison University, Islamia University Bahawalpur etc. partook in the training sessions.

Prof. Dr. Ali Sajid (Director, LSPS), Prof. Dr. Ismat Ullah Cheema (Head of Academics), Dr. Rafiq Dar (Head of the Placement Cell), M. Nasir Iqbal (Lecturer and Counselling Psychologist) and Prof. Dr. Asghar Ali Zaidi (VC GCU) participated in the training sessions.

The sessions focused on communication skills, contemporary clinical issues, counseling strategies, neuro-psychological issues of COVID-19 survivors and nutrition and mental health in children.

Prof. Dr. Zaidi presented the certificate to the speakers and trainees and applauded LSPS for holding what he called the need of the hour training.g
