They observed how pressure vessels are made from sheet metals, the rolling of sheet metal into cylindrical shell, the incorporation of nozzles, spherical caps and welded joints, design of saddle support and testing of final product. They also learned about the software used by Descon for the design of pressure vessels and observed the factors that may influence the strength and operating life of pressure vessels and cause earlier failure. The industrial visit was highly successful and proved to be extremely useful in linking theory to industrial practice.

The visit ended with words of appreciation to Descon Engineering for their time, guidance and hospitality. The students were extremely thankful to Prof. Dr. Salim Abid Tabassum and The University of Lahore for arranging this important industrial visit and providing all the relevant facilities and valuable support.
