Department of Allied Health Sciences (DMLS & MID), Gujrat Campus, in collaboration with the Pink Ribbon Pakistan, co-organized Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar on October 8, 2019 with the objective of raising awareness regarding the prevalence of breast cancer among the Pakistani women, its early diagnosis and treatment.
The session began with recitation of the Holy Quran, Naat-e-Rasool-Maqbool (SAW) followed by the welcoming speech by Dr Abid Ali (HoD Allied Health Sciences). Dr Sana Tabassum (Aziz Bhatti Hospital), Dr Mehvish Nasir (Mission Hospital Sialkot), Mr Omer Aftab (CEO, Pink Ribbon) were the keynote speakers and discussed the factors linked to breast cancer, etiology, screening, early diagnosis and moral support for women diagnosed with breast cancer.
Mr Aftab appreciated the University for organizing this seminar and asked the participants to pass over the shared details about breast cancer with their communities. The speakers also interacted with the participants in a question-answer session arranged towards the seminar closure.
After delivering his vote of thanks, Prof Dr Nazar Muhammad Ranjha (Associate Dean, Allied Health Sciences) along with Mr Awais Umar (Deputy Director, QEC) presented the shields and certificates to the guests, participants and the organizing team.
