CSCL launches Campus Ambassadorship Program to facilitate placement of UOL graduates

With regard to the MoUs signed with MyLift Lahore Cab Service, Star Asia News and IGI Life Vitality, the University of Lahore’s Career Services and Corporate Linkages (CSCL) organized the launching ceremony of the Campus Ambassadorship Program on March 3, 2021, at the UOL Defence Road Campus.

The students from various departments attended the occasion. In his opening remarks, Mr. Ali Qaswar Khaleeq (Acting HoD, CSCL) expressed gratitude to the companies for accepting the collaboration with UOL.

While explaining the structure of the Campus Ambassadorship Program, he shared that it is based on four major pillars, which include semester long internship for the students, internship experience letter for the selected ambassador(s), sponsored kits from the companies for the selected ambassador(s) to wear on campus and commission based earnings.

He further told that this program, on one hand, is providing the corporate sector with an access to a market of 40,000 plus students and 6,000 plus faculty/staff. While on the other hand, the program provides the ambassadors with the opportunity to work closely with the industry professionals thus acquiring the soft skills set required in the job market.

Ms. Sana Khan (Director Marketing-MyLift Car Service) presented the company profile and explained how Cab service is revolutionizing the industry by offering riders zero peak hour policy and lucrative salary packages for the captains. Besides Sana, the delegation of MyLift included Asad Saleem (MD, MyLift) and Mr. Hadi (Marketing Officer).

Ms. Meera Sulehri (Senior Anchor, Star Asia News) interacted with the audience and explained how the media industry can provide them with the placement opportunities both on screen and off screen. She said that the channel can polish talents and transforms amateurs into stars. Meera was accompanied by Mr. Ghazi Babur (Chairman Star Asia News) and Mr. Eid Muhammad (Senior Anchor Person – Star Asia News) at the event.

Mr. Zurr-e-Atta Hussain (Country Head, IGI Life Vitality), shared the company profile with the students and explained about the career opportunities available in the insurance sector. Mr. Amjad Mehboob (GM, IGI Life Vitality), Mr. Raja Arshad (Regional Head, Central Region, IGI Life Vitality) and the marketing team of IGI Life vitality also attended the event.

The three companies announced their respective campus ambassadors and presented them the sponsored kits. Noor-e-Hira, Radiya Faisal, Samia Siddiqa, Zain ul Abideen, Iman Tahir, Malik Saad Awan Aviat, Muhammad Shehzad, Muhammad Ishfaq and Kareem ullah from Computer Science, SOCA, Pharmacy, DDNS and Economics have been selected as campus ambassadors of Star Asia News, My Lift Cab Service and IGI Life Vitality. The ceremony ended with an interactive question-answer session with the students.
