The University of Lahore also offers attractive scholarships to employees wishing to pursue a degree along with their job. The degrees covered under this scholarship include MS, MPhil, and Ph.D., though other programs can also be approved by the administration.
The scholarship offers a fee waiver of 30% to 70%, depending on the final results of the applicant’s earlier degree. Scholarship holders are expected to maintain a certain level of academic performance over the two semesters for which it will be awarded in order to sustain it. This scholarship does not include an administrative staff of teaching department or employees whose status is not confirmed, and is also not applicable to the “The University College of Medicine and Dentistry”.
Scholarship holders will be required to work in Ibadat educational Trust for two years once their degree is complete. Employees who /wish to leave the organization before the completion of the degree will have to forego the scholarship and return the financial concession granted earlier. Similarly, the financial concession will be canceled for the remaining semesters if the employee is terminated from his job at UoL.
Employees who leave before completing the two years of mandatory work as a part of the scholarship conditions will have to return double the amount of financial assistance granted to them. The financial assistance authority has the discretion for making decisions regarding employee scholarships if the cases do not fall under one of the above scenarios.
